What Is Color-Coded Filing?

  • Research show color coding using end-tab files saves time... more than 70%
  • Color-coded labels improve filing accuracy and oprations. It's easier to recognize colors than black and white images.
  • Associations between colors and letters or numbers quickly become routine. It's easier to locate something that has been misfiled.

Why End-Tab Files?

Files identified with tabs on the narrow side of the folder instead of the top or long side are called end-tab or "shelf" files. End tabs are easily recognized when stored in shelf-style cabinetry. The combination of this style of file folder with color coding and shelf cabinets improves filing accuracy and saves time and file storage space.

Filing Systems From Safeguard:

  • Save space
  • Reduce filing time
  • Improve filing accuracy
  • Provide folders for a specific use
  • Use color-coding to match your filing systems

Why Shelf-Style Filing?

  • Lateral or shelf-style filing saves more space than conventional drawer filing. Since files are accessible from the side instead of from a drawer, they can be positioned higher, resulting in more files per square foot. Drawer clearances are not required, saving even more floor area!
  • Several people can access the same cabinet at the same time. File access time is also reduced because drawers do not have to be opened and closed.
  • Mobilizing these cabinets can provide even greater space savings in tight or crowded offices.

Lateral System

By moving shelves laterally (left or right), you have access to all rows without using additional aisle space. This concept allows your storage system to grow as your storage needs increase.

Compacting System

Place back-to-back units or double-entry storage

products on a mobile carriage which allows to access to files anywhere in the system. Mechanical assist tracking moves thousands of pounds with little effort.
